This painting found a home

I've been gone for two weeks taking care of some family business so haven't gotten to post anything new.  I did sell this painting just as I got it back from the Pearl Museum show of award winning paintings from the Watercolor Society of Houston's International show.  I guess "everyone loves a winner" isn't just a saying!  It made me very happy considering that I wasn't able to work for two weeks.

Thanks Sheila, it was a ray of sunshine in the storm.

Hi Manon, thanks, and thanks for the complement. I'm working on doing paintings that I like instead of just doing paintings of things I like. This was kind of a break through painting for me.

Congrats! Great news! Just so you know, you can sell art prints like yours through deviantart.com :) Right now, they're having free shipping worldwide on all their prints. This promotion is bringing in a lot of customers, which means more money for the artist! Perhaps you'll even see some prints from underground artists around the globe you'll want to purchase as well :)

Congratulations!!! I would be doing back flips if I sold anything!!! Your painting is so intriguing...the orange outfit pops out and grabs you in and then you are captivated as you wonder who she is looking at, or what she is thinking....

Thanks Ayame, I'll check it out. I don't have any prints though, just originals.

Hey Donna B, Thanks, I think anyone is pretty happy when they have a sale especially to someone who seems to really be excited about their acquisition. So you're not alone there. Thanks for the compliment and feedback!

Unfortunately, not my home! Congratulations on the award and the sale. This looks like you might be a fan of Betsy Stroud's work.
Yes, paintings you like...I get it, I concur.

Hey Nick, welcome back to this side of the pond! Thanks again for all the great photos of your show you posted on your blog. What a wonderful opportunity for you and congrats on the workshop offers etc.!
Thanks for the congrats and the really nice compliment! I googled Betsy Stroud but only found a few images of collage abstracts with lots of playing cards included. I will continue to look as I haven't quite seen the connection as yet. Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks Sam! I really like your new painting too. You have such a wonderful understanding of how to paint animals.
