Go fly a kite...

It started out like this... now it looks like this.  I really like this in person but am not liking the thumbnail version of it.  Seems like it should work well either way.  Hmm.... will have to ponder that.
The other thing is I really liked the first version and let it sit for a week and then I got bored with it over the weekend and worked on it some more.  I'm thinking of Nick Simmon's words..."first do no harm"... I like both versions so don't know that I helped the painting any but I definitely removed the simplicity of the first, so did I do harm or did I make it better?

I love your questions here! I often ask myself the same when I have photographed a work in progress and then worked on it and wondered if I should have left it as it was. My paintings have many layers, as yours seem to do. I definitely like what you have done, you have improved the composition, especially with the blue area in the lower right-hand side. There seems to be more movement, as if the wind is taking the kite.

Tonya,
Thanks for following my blog! I love your abstracts, so soft and luminous, great color. Looks like you too like to play with different media like me! Are you in Texas? I visit family there...

Delorse, I enjoyed your blog. Thanks for the compliment. I admit I am having so much fun with the mixed media abstracts. Yes, Texas is my permanent home.

Wow Mike, thanks for the enthusiastic compliment! I might have to print that out and put it in my favorite quotes list! I have to say you do some stunning work yourself.
